The Lewis family always does a fun Newport vacation each summer, but since Adam's parents are still gone on their mission Jared and I were lucky enough to be invited to join in on the fun. We tried lots of fun restaurants, played at the beach, and spent plenty of time relaxing. Jared always has the time of his life boogie boarding.
It was fun watching Reese over the course of the week get more and more comfortable with the ocean water and waves. The first day she was definitely not a fan. By the end we couldn't keep her away.
We have done a couple of family reunions with the Bodines before but this year Bill and Heather went all out. They got a beautiful house in Bear Lake and we spent a few days there all together. It was a blast. We played lots of games, swam in the pool, and a few of us even got in the freezing cold water lake water. Because it was so early in the summer it was quite chilly.
Cousin Jace is so sweet with Reese
The Bodine boys
All the cousins together in the infamous boat.
Jared decided to cut his hair into a bowl cut for most of the summer, finally at the reunion we all got to participate in shaving Jared's head.
After getting back from Bear Lake we all went to the Strawberry Days rodeo together. The kids had lots of fun despite very late bedtimes.
We also had a big Robins trip in Florida that my parents planned. The fun part of this trip was there were no grandkids. I have never left Reese for that long so I was a little worried about how she and I would do, but it was actually really quite nice not having her! Although when we got home I did give her lots of snuggles. Heather, Taryn, and Andrea were my wonderful babysitters.
We went to the NASA museum and got some cool tours and learned about all the wonderful things they have done.
Probably my favorite part of the whole trip was the air boat rides. I didn't really have a whole lot of expectations but man was it cool. We saw lots of gators in the wild and the lake was beauitful!
We had some fun beach day. Our first day going to the beach though it started downpouring right when we got there. Everyone on the beach cleared out and went home except for us rockin Robins. We had the whole beach to ourselves and it was great!
Jared went scuba diving for his first time ever. I unfortunately couldn't go since I am pregnant with baby #2. He really enjoyed it and I can't wait to go with him sometime.
Taryn sent me this cute picture one of the days she babysat and it made my momma heart happy.
We always love spending time at Grandpa Robins pasture in the summer. We had an Anderson reunion and rode bikes down on the Provo trail to the pasture.
Although Reese has been on a horse before as a tiny baby, this was her first time old enough to be scared and/or excited. She seemed to really like it!
By the end of the night she had played in the dirt so much and was exhausted.
The weekend before we moved to Kansas City my girlfriends and I had a fun girls weekend. We went up to Salt Lake, shopped around City Creek, had dinner at the Melting Pot, and had lots of laughs. I sure am going to miss having these friends close by.
